Welcome to “The Chapel of the Good Shepherd and Our Blessed Lady, Queen of Angels”

The chapel is on the edge of Downton Village in Barford Lane,  and has served the catholic community of Downton, Woodfalls, Redlynch and other surrounding villages since it was built in 1950. This was a temporary measure until a larger, permanent church could be built. However, times change and the small chapel still remains.

As part of St Osmund’s Parish, Mass is celebrated every Sunday at 11am. To involve younger members, a Children’s Liturgy group is held during Mass on the first and third Sundays of each month.  All children are welcome.

The congregation joins with the other Churches in Downton for a number of spiritual and social events, including an Ash Wednesday Service, a Good Friday Service and Walk of Witness, the Cuckoo Fair Service and a Carol Service.
